Covid-19 protection concept

The protection concept is valid from September 13, 2021

Dear guests,

We are happy to welcome you on our trekking tours. The special circumstances caused by Covid-19 require specific measures on our tours. This serves the health and safety of all of us and helps us to make a contribution in the effort to control the virus.

Our offers take place in small groups of up to 12 participants and a guide. All persons (guests and guides) participating in an offer must hold a valid Covid certificate. We adhere to the guidelines of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH). Hotels, mountain railroads and other service providers must also have a protection concept in accordance with the federal guidelines.

Our offers can be booked normally. The general terms and conditions apply. We recommend that you take out cancellation insurance, which will cover the cost of the offer in the case of a Covid-19 illness or quarantine obligation.

We will be happy to advise you if you have any questions or uncertainties regarding Covid-19 or a suitable insurance solution.

Best regards,

Franz Widmer

out & ABOUT - Switzerland Trekking

Covid certificate

Our offers include stay in hotels in addition to the active part outdoors. Therefore we are obliged that all participating persons (guest and guides) have a valid Covid certificate. Our guide will check the certificates at the welcome. For this purpose, in addition to scanning the QR code, an identification document (passport, ID, half-fare card, ticket, etc.) must be kept ready.

Persons who are neither fully vaccinated nor recovered will receive a Covid certificate by means of a PCR or antigen test. The validity of a PCR test is 72 hours, that of an antigen test 48 hours. In the case of offers lasting more than three days, a test taken on the evening before the start of the tour is not sufficient and a new test must be taken en route. We are happy to help in these cases so that a test location can be found without complications.

We refer to the BAG which gives further information about the Covid certificate.

We ask guests who undergo a Covid-19 test up to and including ten days after a visited offer and are tested positive to inform us immediately.

Group size / distance rule

We are traveling in small groups up to a maximum of 12 people plus hike guide. The distance of 1.5 m will be kept whenever possible.

  • For a short time, the distance of 1.5 m can be undercut without additional precautions.
  • If, in exceptional cases, the distance of 1.5 m cannot be held for a longer period of time, precautionary measures adapted to the situation will be taken (protective mask).
  • Physical contact is to be avoided altogether (e.g. no greetings/farewells by handshake).

Arrival and departure as well as transfers

  • Carpooling between people who do not live in the same household should be avoided
  • Public transportation can be used while observing precautionary measures (keep distance, wear protective mask)
  • In minibuses, the precautionary measures are taken into account during transfers (keep distance, wear protective mask)

Overnight stay

In our multi-day offers we stay in hotels that can guarantee the observance of hygiene and distance rules.

  • The accommodation places are pre-reserved for all our guests.
  • Single rooms can be booked for all offers.

Risk group

Guests who belong to a risk group are referred to the information provided by the FOPH.
