Central Switzerland and Bernese Oberland

Central Switzerland is the cradle of the Swiss Confederation and offers a unique combination of urban flair and spectacular Alpine scenery. Lucerne is the gateway to the region. With its historic Chapel Bridge and picturesque old town, the city on the shores of Lake Lucerne offers an incomparable panorama. The lake itself invites visitors to take nostalgic trips on historic paddle steamers, which transport travelers to peaks such as the Rigi or Pilatus, just as they did in the past. In the immediate vicinity, the monastery village of Engelberg exudes alpine flair with the Titlis and its eternal ice. Andermatt is located directly on the main Alpine ridge, in the middle of the great Swiss Alpine passes, in the water castle of Switzerland.

The Bernese Oberland is a region of superlatives, with the world-famous Jungfrau region and the UNESCO World Heritage sites of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau at its heart. From Interlaken, the lively center between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, trails lead to the spectacular glacier village of Grindelwald and the car-free villages of Wengen and Mürren. While the Jungfraujoch, at 3,454 meters, is home to Europe's highest railway station, the “Top of Europe,” the nearby Schilthorn offers a legendary 360-degree panoramic view. To the west, the Simmental valley shows its idyllic side, and right next to it lies the glamorous Gstaad, known for its luxurious chalets and authentic alpine culture. The region perfectly combines the rugged high mountains with gentle alpine bliss, creating unforgettable Swiss experiences.
